Who Is A Joint Director/LAW?
A joint director is a person who is responsible for distribution and procurement. Or any other officer designated by the Government to carry out the duties of the Joint Director under this order. The Joint Director & Legal Officer will oversee our nationwide legal aid staff in addition to representing clients, primarily in Freetown. The chosen candidate will work out of our Freetown headquarters. But will also require to travel to our other service areas to handle urgent cases and oversee the activities of the legal aid staff. She will support the Executive Director in leading and managing the organization. And she will require to submit appeals on time.
Responsibilities Of A Joint Director
- A joint director gives legal counsel and assistance during the processing, negotiating, and management of projects related to SDF’s operations. This includes reviewing loan proposals and financing arrangements (including co-financing with other bilateral or multilateral donors and financiers), drafting legal contracts, taking part in missions for loan processing and due diligence, conducting loan negotiations, reviewing bid evaluations and other procurement documents, and managing project administration issues.
- To reduce financial, legal, and reputational risks, legal advice is given by a joint law officer on all investment operations in terms of regulatory requirements and legal approvals.
- A joint director ensures an efficient and motivated team and provides ongoing inputs, supervision, training, and development for department staff.
- Liaise with the HR/Admin department to conduct performance reviews and make sure any training and competency gaps are filled.
- If necessary, a joint director communicates with legal advisors in SAARC member states.
- A joint director ensures efficient and effective management of the legal system and resource utilization at the SDF Secretariat by offering inputs and advice.
- The administration of the SDF project financing agreement is visualized under a joint director.
- Legal aspects of SDF-funded projects are managed in SAARC member states.
- A joint director examines the legal ramifications of SDF projects and offers the CEO and relevant departments the necessary inputs and suggestions.
- A joint director examines the tender documents, SDF rules and regulations, charter, bylaws, and legal agreements, and offers legal advice to the CEO and all concerned departments.
- Toto ensures that the proper steps have been taken when legal risks have been identified and communicate with the relevant departments as per rulings of a joint director.
- A joint director gives management legal defense and risk management guidance, especially regarding contract management.

Skills/Qualifications Required For A Joint Director Law Job

- A joint director should possess at least 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- A joint director possesses a thorough understanding of the SAARC region’s developmental requirements and keeps current with social, economic, and infrastructure developments there,
- The age range of a joint director should be 30 to 40 years (as on January 31, 2020),
- A joint director should have strong English communication skills, both in writing and speaking.
- A joint director is understanding and familiar with labor laws and industrial relations.
- Have strong networking abilities, project management expertise, and critical and creative thinking
- A joint director monitors and evaluates each person’s and the institution’s performance. Coordinating difficult tasks.
- Time management, negotiation, and persuasion abilities, as well as the control of various administrative tasks, are the basic skills required for a joint director.
- A joint director should have more than 10 years of experience managing human resources, admissions, administration, or procurement tasks independently in any high-end educational institutions, governments, or industries supported by governments.
- Knowledge of industrial operations and trends, strong networking skills, administrative prowess, experience conceptualizing training programs, etc should be well known to a joint director.
- Any postgraduate with at least a 55% grade (or an equivalent grade on a point scale wherever grading is done) or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
