Part-Time Nanny/ Male Tutor (DRIVER’S LICENSE IS MANDATORY)
Position Overview: We are seeking a responsible, caring, and energetic Au Pair to support our two children (ages 7 and 4) in their daily routines and educational development. This role is based in Dubai, UAE, and is part-time during the school term, with additional full-time support required during certain school holidays, including part of the winter, spring, and summer breaks.
Key Responsibilities:
School Term (Part-Time):
- Mornings (6:00 AM–7:30 AM): Assist the children in getting ready for school and preparing their snack boxes.
- Afternoons (3:00 PM–7:00 PM):
- Support the 4-year-old with reading and early learning.
- Assist the 7-year-old with writing, spelling, math, and homework.
- Plan and engage the children in creative games and activities.
- Accompany the children (along with the driver) to after-school activities.
Saturdays:
- Work from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM for academic and activity support.
School Holidays (Full-Time):
- Full-time support will be required during some school holidays, including part of the winter, spring, and summer breaks. Specific schedules will be shared in advance.
- Occasional travel with the family may be required to provide support during trips.
Requirements:
- Childcare Experience:Proven experience as a nanny, with a strong understanding of child development, age-appropriate activities, and safety.
- Educational Background:A degree in child development, education, or a related field is often preferred.
- Tutoring Skills:Experience or training in tutoring, including the ability to assess student needs, develop lesson plans, and provide effective instruction.
- Communication and Organizational Skills:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building rapport with children and communicating with parents. Strong organizational skills are needed to manage schedules, lesson plans, and materials.
- Adaptability and Flexibility:The ability to adapt to different learning styles, manage challenging situations, and adjust to changing schedules or needs.
- First Aid and Safety:CPR and First Aid certification, and a strong understanding of safety protocols.
- References:Positive references from previous employers, particularly regarding childcare and tutoring experience.
- Background Checks:Willingness to undergo background checks, including DBS checks, and potentially DMV checks if driving is required.
- Specific Skills:Some families may also look for specific skills such as experience with particular educational software, online learning platforms, or specific academic subjects.
